Challenging The Existing Notion On Vintage Clothing, Kuon Revitalizes Traditional Japanese Boro And Re-Purposes These Rich Materials And Fabrics For The Modern Day.
The Twisted Pleat Guayabera Shirket From Kuon Is Inspired By Vintage Cuban, Or Guayabera Shirts, With Roots Dating Back To The Late 19Th Century. Cuban Or Guayabera Shirts Are Typically Adorned With 2 Or 4 Pockets And Vertical Rows Of Delicately Sewn Pleats.
Cut In Japan From A High Density Woven Supima Cotton Broadcloth, The Twisted Pleat Guayabera Has Traces Of Kuon’S Signature Detailing Throughout. The Pleats Are Woven With A Pin Tuck In An Intricate Origami Style Giving The Shirt A Sense Of Playfulness, As Well As Being In Line With Their Brand Ethos. Other Features Include A Classic 50’S Style Open Collar, Button Front And Two Large Patch Pockets On The Front.
Designed As A Combination Of Both A Shirt And Jacket, It Fits A Little Over-Sized Allowing For Some Mid Summer Layering.
