Buco Was A Famous Leather Jacket Manufacturer Founded In 1933 As The ‘Joseph Buegeleisen Co’, And Were One Of The First Producers Specialising In Motorcycle Accessories And Bags. A Few Years Later They Developed Their Full Apparel Line Promising “Motorcycle Jackets, Gloves, Caps, Belts & Bags All Cut And Sewn By Lifelong Craftsmen To The Task At Hand”.
Manufacturing Was Maintained Entirely At An In-House Factory, Allowing The Brand To Produce The Highest Quality Leather Jackets Available On The Market At The Time. The Horsehide Rider’S Jackets Produced During 1940S-50S Are Considered Their Iconic Pieces. The Real Mccoy’S Have Acquired The Licence To Produce The Brand And Do So With Due Diligence And Expertise In Japan.
The J-100 & J-24 Were Two Biker Jackets That Put Joseph Buegeleisen’S Buco Brand On The Map. Developed In 1953, The J-100 Jacket Is Considered To Be One Of The Most Iconic Depictions Of A Classic ‘Cafe Racer’ Style.
Each Leather Jacket Manufactured By The Real Mccoy’S Is Made Entirely By One Highly Trained, Skilled Craftsman, Manufactured In Their Kobe Hq. Mccoy’S Use A Vegetable Tanned, Pigment Finished Shinki Horsehide, With Each Piece Hand Cut For Every Jacket. “Rich Water Resistant Black Finish”; A Term Coined In Vintage Buco Sales Catalogs And Similar To Original Leathers. The Leather Is A Brown Core With A Black Finish That Over Time Will Wear Away Revealing The Brown Wear In High Stress Areas, Known As Tea-Core (Sleeves, Cuffs & Front Placket Especially).
The J-100 Also Features A Lightweight Rayon Lining While The Zip Front Uses A Custom Mccoy Square Front Zipper. The Sleeves Use A 50’S Style Talon Zip While The Two Chest Pockets Feature 7 Chain Link Zippers While A Buco Dot Button Is Used On The Collar.
